Local officials of the Islamic Emirate in Panjshir said that 11,192 carats of Panjshir emeralds, along with three samples of the precious stone, were sold to domestic and international traders at an auction held today.
According to Bakhtar News Agency, Saifuddin Laton, spokesperson for the Governor of Panjshir, stated the emeralds were sold for a total of 307,852,000 AFN in the presence of the Mining Protection Committee and at an auction attended by domestic and international traders.
He added that over 1,000 domestic traders, along with three Chinese traders, participated in the Panjshir emerald auction.
