Wardak, Chak – With the financial support of the Aksos Cultural Center, special winter supportive courses have been organized for over 280 students in the Chak district of Wardak province. This initiative marks a significant step for the residents of this region, as they face numerous challenges due to climate change.
Local residents report substantial losses in livestock and agriculture, as climate changes have severely impacted their economic foundations. Under such circumstances, many families are unable to provide proper educational opportunities for their children.
In response to the community’s needs, Aksos has taken the initiative to address these challenges to the best of its ability by organizing supportive educational courses. These courses, held during the harsh winter, provide students with not only educational materials but also heating equipment to ensure they can study in a comfortable environment.
Haji Lahor Khan, a respected elder of the Chak district, expressed his gratitude:
“These courses are a great hope for our children. Our region has suffered greatly due to conflict and climate change, but Aksos’ support is lighting the way to a brighter future.”
Teachers highlight that the courses not only enhance the students’ academic performance but also equip them with the skills to develop their talents and tackle social challenges effectively.
The cultural officer of Aksos Safiullah Nasary stated:
“We firmly believe that education is every child’s right. Our program in Chak district is designed to bring about a positive change in the community. Our goal is not just education but also finding solutions to poverty and hardships faced by society.”
He further noted that prior to this initiative, Aksos had supported over 30 local libraries across Wardak, Bamyan, Ghazni, Khost, and Baghlan provinces, playing a constructive role in enriching these libraries with books and resources.
Aksos invites other international aid organizations, private sector entities, and philanthropists to join such projects, including vocational programs, to contribute to the development of communities through education.
The continuation of this initiative will only be possible with the support of additional donors and aid organizations, as well as the establishment of long-term plans to address these regional challenges.
