United Nations World Food Program has said that they have prepared food items for 14.8 million people in Afghanistan since the beginning of the year 2022.

The Program on its Twitter post said that they have so far provided food assistance to tens of thousands of people across Afghanistan.

The Tweet reads that they were able to provide assistance to people in the Sheghnan district of Badakhshan province, the Jund district of Badghis province, and the Lal and Sar Jangal districts of Ghor province.

These are among the most hard-reach areas of Afghanistan where people are the most vulnerable.

WFP further added that they are committed to providing food aid to the hard-reach areas of Afghanistan and will continue to do so.

Afghan people are the most needed people on earth who need urgent humanitarian assistance and food items as the country has been going through the worst humanitarian disaster and vas hunger.

The UN has estimated that over half of the Afghan population (23 million people) needs lifesaving assistance whereas the percentage of poverty has reached 95 percent.
