At least six people, including four children and a woman have been killed and two others wounded during an overnight operation of Afghan Special Forces in Narkh district of central Maidan Wardak province, a public representative said on Saturday.
Sharifullah Hotak, a provincial council member of Maidan Wardak, told Pajhwok Afghan News that Afghan Special Forces conducted operation in Sadmardi locality of the district late on Friday night.
He said a school guard, his wife and four of his children were killed and two others wounded when their house was raided by the security forces.
A woman and one another person who were wounded had been shifted to hospital for treatment, he added.
He said residents of the area carried the dead bodies of civilians in a protest to the governor’s house.
Hotak said government officials claim they killed militants in the raid.
Muhibullah Sharifzai, the governor’s spokesman, was unaware about the raid but said people of the area were heading to the governor’s house and they would take information about the incident from the protestors.
A resident of the area, who wished to go unnamed, told Pajhwok that Special Forces first conducted operation and later bombarded two houses.
