China’s ambassador said his country will expand relations with the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan.

“As Afghans are good neighbors, brothers and partners, China will stand firm on the concept of community with the shared future for mankind, guided by the global development initiative and global security initiative. China will substantially enhance bilateral cooperation in all areas,” said Wang Yu.

He added that the US creates problems in Afghanistan and has not helped the Afghans after leaving the country.

“The US pursued its own interests only. The 20-year occupation of Afghanistan by the US did not help the country realize its social development … war has destroyed its infrastructure, leading to more difficulties in its economic development and people’s livelihoods,” Yu stated.

“It will be in the interest of Afghanistan if we expand our relations with China and China also acknowledges Afghanistan as an independent country and interacts with us,” said Janat Fahim Chakari, an international relations specialist.

“China is competing with America, and as a result, its ties with that country have gotten worse. China is constantly working to highlight America’s weaknesses. It is a sarcastic message to America that since you fled, we have good connections with them,” said Wahid Faqiri, political analyst.

US House of Representatives Speaker Nancy Pelosi’s trip to Taiwan, according to the Chinese envoy in Kabul, is a violation of Chinese sovereignty.
