Turkish Company Wins Tender for Kandahar Marble Mining

A Turkish company has secured the tender to operate the Kandahar marble mine. The contract, set to be signed on Tuesday between the country’s Ministry of Mines and Petroleum and the Turkish firm, marks a pivotal step towards utilizing the country’s rich underground resources.

Humayun Afghan, spokesperson for the Ministry, announced that the Turkish company will invest $6.2 million into the Kandahar marble project. This investment is expected to enhance local employment opportunities and contribute to the overall economic development of the region.

The Turkish company has been actively involved in exploring, extracting, and processing Kandahar marble for the past ten years, showcasing their commitment and expertise in the field.
