Helmand Department of Information and Culture says more than 6,000 tourists visited Bost historical fort over Eid this year.
Visitors say that if the government pays greater attention to the preservation and restoration of historical sites, more domestic and foreign tourists will visit the sites in future.
“We request the government to pay more attention to these historical sites,” said Abdul Rahman, a tourist.
“We ask the Islamic Emirate to renovate this place so that the number of visitors increases,” said Izzatullah, another tourist.
Meanwhile, the Department of Information and Culture of Helmand province says that three parts of the Bost fort are set to be restored this year.
Bost fort is one of dozens of historical sites in Helmand province, which according to historians, was built during the time of King Nosherwan and is 2,500 years old.
