The caretaker government of Afghanistan reacted to the Vienna meeting, saying that the officials of the former government should not promote war in Afghanistan.
A three-day meeting among some Afghan politicians and former government’s officials was held in Vienna.
“It will not plunge into war and chaos again and fragment. Those who are gathered in Vienna, those are the people who have been tested once in Afghanistan and their actions are also clear for the people,” said Zabiullah Mujahid, the slamic Emirate’s spokesman.
At least 30 people including political, media and civil society figures as well as former government officials participated in the meeting.
The meeting was hosted by the Austrian Institute for International Affairs about the situation of Afghanistan.
“Some people considered this meeting unique and inclusive due to the presence of some influential figures,” said Noorullah Raghi, a former diplomat.
Ahmad Massoud; Rangin Dadfar Spanta, the former minister of foreign affairs;
Salahuddin Rabbani, former foreign minister; Muhammad Mohaqiq, head of the People’s Islamic Unity Party of Afghanistan; former member of the parliament Fawzia Koofi and former Minister of Justice, Fazal Ahmad Manavi were invited to the meeting.
