President Ashraf Ghani has strongly condemned the attack on a wedding hall in Kabul, saying the Taliban cannot absolve themselves of blame, as they provide a platform for terrorists.
As a result of the suicide attack on the wedding hall in PD6 of Kabul last nught, at least 63 civilians were killed and 182 others wounded.
While denouncing the assault s inhuman, Ghani said his top priority was to reach out to families of the victims of this barbaric attack.
“On behalf of the nation, I send my heartfelt condolences to the families of those who were martyred,” the president said in a statement.
“For those who are wounded, I pray for your speedy recovery. I have ordered the relevant authorities to urgently assist them.
“In response to this targeted attack, I have called an extraordinary security meeting to review the situation and prevent such security lapses.”
He added the Taliban could not absolve themselves of blame, because they provided a platform for terrorists. “Today is the day of mourning, hence #StateBuilder have cancelled today’s gathering at the Loya Jirga tent.”
Meanwhile, Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Dr. Abdullah Abdull aIso condemned the attack as a heinous crime against humanity and extended his condolences and prayers to families of the victims.
The National Security Council (NSC) too slammed the attack that happened in Chahardi area in limits of the 6th police district.
