Taliban leaders and Indonesian officials have held talks on the Afghan peace process and pullout of international troops from Afghanistan.
A team comprised of the militant movement’s representatives paid a four-day visit to Indonesia from August 12 to 15, said Taliban’s political office in Qatar.
Led by head of Taliban’s Qatar Office Mullah Sher Mohammad Abbas Stanikzai, the delegation met Indonesian Vice President Muhammad Jusuf Kalla, Forieng Minister Retno Marsudi and Special Representative for Afghanistan Hamid Awaluddin.
A statement from the Taliban’s political bureau said the two sides also conferred on relations between the movement and the Indonesian government.
Earlier in the month, a Taliban team visited Uzbekistan for similar talks. The trip was supported the High Peace Council, which said it had been kept in picture.
