Presidential runner Rahmatullah Nabil said Taliban and fraud are the only enemies of democracy as he urged the people to prevent fraud in elections.
Speaking to reports after casting his votes in Kabul, Nabil said the process of democracy has two enemies, one is Taliban and the other one is fraud.
He urged the people to assist in preventing fraud in elections process.
The voting process was underway in various parts of the country amid tight security and reports of irregularities in various sites, including irregular lists of voters, malfunctioning of biometrics system.
Reports have also emerged from some parts of the country including Kabul, Kandahar, Nangarhar, Kunar and some other areas suggesting that small security related incidents have taken.
