The Afghanistan Independent Human Rights Commission (AIHRC) on Sunday said six civilians were killed and four others were wounded during operations by Afghan and foreign forces in central Kapisa province.
A statement from AIHRC said Special Forces, with air support from foreign troops, carried out ground and air operations in Afghania, Bahramkhel, Ahangaran, Pashai, Hesar, Suratkhel, Mahtano, Lokakhel and Sahibzadah villages of Nijrab district a week back.
At least six civilians were killed and four others were wounded in the joint operations, the commission alleged, asking foreign troops and Afghan forces to pay attention to protecting civilian lives during their raids against militants.
AIHRC also called on judicial organs to thoroughly investigate the issue and share their findings with the commission. However, NATO has not yet commented on the civilian casualties.
