The municipality of Sheberghan has announced that the construction of two residential townships, covering an area of 4,000 acres, will soon commence near the Qosh Tepa Canal.

According to this department, one of the townships will be located between the Mangjak and Aqcha districts, while the other will be situated in Khwaja-du-Koh district district, along the Qosh Tepa Canal.

These townships will be built to modern standards, aiming to provide facilities for the local population and support farmers in Jowzjan province.

“These townships, covering a total area of 4,000 acres, will feature complete facilities and infrastructure. The township between Qarqin and Khumab districts will cover 2,000 acres and will be located near the Qosh Tepa Canal. Upon receiving approval, these projects will be operational,” said Habibullah Qane, the mayor of Sheberghan.

Residents of Jowzjan welcomed the construction of these townships, considering it an effective step toward the country’s economic development.

“We fully support these projects. These initiatives will not only advance Jowzjan province but also contribute to the country’s development, encouraging our people to work and stay within Afghanistan, “said Jawed, a resident of Jowzjan.

“The construction of these two townships along the Qosh Tepa Canal is an excellent step that will lead to the province’s progress and create job opportunities for young people,” said Gul Mohammad, another resident of Jowzjan.

Omid, a Jowzjan resident, said: “The townships being built near the Qosh Tepa Canal are among the most important infrastructure projects in Afghanistan and can bring significant benefits to the people.”

Previously, many residents of Balkh, Jowzjan, and Faryab provinces had called for the implementation of major infrastructure projects in these regions.
