Shah wa Aros Dam Inaugurated in Shakardara District of Kabul

The Economic Affairs Office of the Prime Minister has announced in a statement that the Shah wa Aros Dam, located in Shakardara district of Kabul, has been officially inaugurated.

Mullah Abdul Ghani Baradar, Deputy Prime Minister for Economic Affairs, highlighted the importance of water management during the inauguration. He stated, “Today, water has gained significant importance as a key economic resource in politics and international relations, surpassing oil in value in some countries.”

The Shah wa Aros Dam, with a height of 78 meters, has a storage capacity of 9.4 million cubic meters of water. It is capable of irrigating approximately 3,500 hectares of land and generating 1.2 megawatts of electricity.
