Five people have been freed from the Taliban captivity during Afghan Commando Forces’ operation in northern Kunduz province, an official said on Saturday. Security forces raided the Taliban prison in the Bajor area of Dash-i-Arch district on Friday night from the ground and air and freed the inmates, District Police Chief Col. Niyaz Mohammad told Pajhwok Afghan News.
According to district police chief, security forces suffered no casualties during the raid while six Taliban went missing from the site of operation. The Governor House confirmed the release of five captive people and added the freed individuals had been taken by the commando forces and the Taliban suffered heavy casualties during the overnight raid.
