Scores injured in election-related violence in Afghanistan

At least 80 people were injured in election-related violence in Afghanistan on Saturday.

In capital Kabul, Emergency Hospital said that it had received 18 wounded people and more were coming.

In eastern Nangarhar province, at least 36 people including women and children were injured, according to provincial governor, Shah Mahmood Miakheil. Two people were killed, he said.

In southern Kandahar province, at least 16 people were injured in a bomb blast at a polling center in provincial capital, medics said.

In eastern Paktia province, a mortar attack injured nine civilians in Samkani district.

Another mortar attack injured two people including an election worker and a voter in Azra district of central Logar province.

In eastern Paktika province, police chief of Sarozi district was injured in an attack.

The day also saw six missiles hitting central-eastern Ghazni city, which left no casualties.
