Saudi envoy vows greater economic relation with Afghanistan

Saudi Ambassador to Afghanistan Jasm Mohammad Alkhaledi on Wednesday held a meeting with Acting Finance Minister Mohammad Humayon Qayyomi and discussed economic ties between Kabul and Riyadh, according to a statement.

During the meeting the Saudi envoy said his country was considering expanding economic relation with Afghanistan pledged cooperation in Afghan reconciliation process, a statement from the Saudi embassy said.

Alkhaledi showed Riyadh readiness for cooperation in Afghan peace process, humanitarian assistance, infrastructure development, improved trade ties and investment in Afghanistan.

He reaffirmed the commitment to expand economic times with Afghanistan.

Both dignities have discussed the upcoming meeting of Saudi Arabia and Afghanistan’s joint commission.

Qayyomi and Jasem also discussed the uplift project which Afghanistan had offered to the Saudi Development Funds.

The two sides also discussed improvement in the economic relations between the two countries.

During the meeting the Saudi envoy sought the support of Afghanistan in promoting and supplying the exports of Saudi Arabia in Central Asia via Afghanistan.
