Qatari Prime Minister Visits Kandahar, Meets Officials

Qatar’s Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani arrived in Kandahar on Friday and met with officials of the Islamic Emirate including Prime Minister

Mullah Mohammad Hassan Akhund, the Islamic Emirate spokesman Zabiullah Mujahid said on Twitter. 

Mujahid said they discussed cooperation in strengthening relations and trust, and working together in the education, health and economic sectors.

The Qatari delegation also included the head of the Qatari State Security (Intelligence Service) Abdullah Al-Khulaifi.

The country facilitated discussions between the Islamic Emirate and the US government that resulted in a peace deal on February 29 of 2020.
