Editor’s Note:
Since the 18th CPC National Congress when China entered a new era of socialism with Chinese characteristics, the CPC had committed to a people-centered development philosophy, and made it the immutable aim of all its work to deliver a better life for the people over the past decade.
Achieving higher-quality employment and building a sustainable and fair social security system have been two fronts in this drive. From 2012 to 2021, the per capita disposable income of residents in China grew over 100 percent. China has established a social security network in line with the national condition, covering the largest number of people, which is nothing short of spectacular. This is the second part of our five-issue coverage on how Chinese life has changed so much for the better since the 18th CPC National Congress – and how the CPC has fulfilled its original mission of seeking happiness for the people.
