At least 7 prisoners escaped from a jail in Paktia province on Sunday, a source said Monday.
According to the source, the jail was located in Gardez city, capital of the province.
Most of the prisoners are jailed for links with terrorist activities, the source said.
Local officials said that only seven prisoners had escaped.
