COVID-19 tests have been conducted on President Ashraf Ghani and First Lady Rula Ghani at their own request, an official said on Tuesday.
Sidiq Sidiqi, spokesman for the Presidential Palace, said both Ghani and his spouse tested negative. “The president is in good health and is leading government efforts on all fronts.”
All precautions had been put in place to make sure that the work environment at the Presidential Office remained safe, the official tweeted.
A day earlier, the Presidential Palace said a number of its employees have tested for coronavirus, but results were still awaited.
