Pres. Ghani launches 3 electricity projects in Bamyan

President Mohammad Ashraf Ghani on Friday inaugurated work on three electricity projects in central Bamyan province of Afghanistan.

The Office of the President, ARG Palace, in a statement said the projects included construction of 220/20kV substation, 220kV electricity transmission line from Doshi to Bamyan, and establishment of electricity supply network for 20 thousand houses.

The statement further added that the 220/20kV substation would be built in Dasht Azdhar area of Bamyan with a total cost of 11.6 million US Dollars by M/S Xinjiang Electric Power.

The second project, construction of transmission line from Doshi to Bamyan, would bear a total cost of 43.8 million US Dollars and would be built by Shyama Ppower, ARG Palace said, adding that the extension of 220kV electricity network would also be constructed by the same company with a total cost of 24.1 million US Dollars.

The Asian Development Bank would finance the three projects which would be completed over a period of two years, ARG Palace said in its statement.
