Local officials from the Nuristan Department of Mines and Petroleum have announced a successful auction of precious and semi-precious stones in the province.
Mawlavi Sayed Rahim Omeir, the Director of Nuristan’s Department of Mines and Petroleum, stated that 11,687kgs of kunzite, beryl, crystal, and morganite stones from the mines of the Doab district were sold for a total of 11.3 million AFN.
This auction is expected to generate 11.3 million AFN for the government treasury. Notably, similar auctions for the sale of beryl and other stones have been held previously in the province.
