Chief Executive Abdullah Abdullah on Friday, in an interview with CNN, stressed the need for an inclusive delegation to negotiate with the Taliban.

“There has been a pause in the talks and there have been efforts underway recently among the allies and partners of Afghanistan … we believe that the delegation should be inclusive not only with the government but the other political parties and political leaders and different walks of life should be represented in that delegation,” Abdullah told CNN.

He also told CNN that NATO’s presence and support is necessary for continuing the war against al-Qaeda, Daesh and the Taliban until peace is achieved:

“Unfortunately, the war continues (and we are faced) with hard headed enemies, Daesh and Al-Qaeda specifically, and Taliban (who) are also continuing with their fight and they (do not) agree with the peace process and there is of course dependence on the support of the international forces…and also there is economic dependence,” said Abdullah.
