Panjshir Department of Mines and Petroleum Sells Over 15,000 Carats of Emeralds

The Panjshir Department of Mines and Petroleum has successfully auctioned 15,552 carats of emeralds, generating a total revenue of $328,950.

Mawlavi Mohammad Qasim Amiri, the head of the department, confirmed the sale to a reporter from Bakhtar News Agency.

In a significant development for the region’s mining sector, two Indian traders met with Hafiz Mohammad Agha Hakim, the governor of Panjshir, to discuss potential investment plans in local mines.

During the meeting, Divya Yaj Sanji, an Indian gemstone trader, expressed enthusiasm for investment opportunities in Afghanistan, highlighting the improved security under the Islamic Emirate’s rule.

Sanji indicated that he would actively encourage other Indian companies to explore investment possibilities in the country. The governor welcomed these proposals, assuring that the provincial administration is fully prepared to support both domestic and foreign investors.
