Pakistan shot down two Indian jets on Wednesday, a spokesman for the Pakistan armed forces said on Wednesday, a day after Indian jests struck inside Pakistan for the first time on Tuesday.
The tensions between India and Pakistan elevated after a suicide car bombing by Pakistan-based militants in Indian-controlled Kashmir that killed 40 Indian paramilitary police on Feb. 14.
Jaish-e-Mohammed militant group was claimed for the attack.
On Tuesday, Indian said after the airstrike that a large number of Jaish-e-Mohammed militant group’s fighter were killed.
“PAF shot down two Indian aircrafts inside Pakistani airspace,” Major General Asif Ghafoor, a spokesman for the Pakistan armed forces said in a tweet.
In the meantime, Police officials in Indian-occupied Kashmir said that two Indian pilots and a civilian had died after an Indian air force plane crashed in Kashmir but did not confirm if the plane had been shot down by Pakistani forces.
Indian officials said three Pakistani jets had also entered Indian airspace, before being intercepted and forced turned back.
