The Ministry of Education has announced an examination for more than 8,000 vacant positions for teachers and fifth and sixth-grade administrative positions across the country.
Abdul Khaleq Sadiq, the head of the quality assurance department of the Ministry of Education, said at the Government Media Center that from today (September 15), for the next ten days, eligible individuals can visit their provinces to register for these positions.
According to the officials of this ministry, their technical teams have started the registration process for eligible individuals in twenty-four provinces of the country and stress that professional individuals will be recruited for these positions without any discrimination or bias.
The head of the quality assurance department of the Ministry of Education, said: “Today, with a strong will and the effort of human resources, the Ministry of Education has collected these 8,165 positions and has transferred the authority to conduct the examination to the National Examination Authority. We announce that the test will be conducted through open competition.”
Mohammad Yousuf Saqib, the General Administration Director of the Ministry of Education, said: “The conditions for employment in education positions in Kabul and the provinces are having a 14th-grade graduation certificate or its equivalent, or a similar religious document of grade seven or eight.”
Abdul Baqi Haqqani, the acting head of the national examination authority, also mentioned that in the past twenty years, Afghanistan’s education system faced a lack of resources and professional teachers, and efforts are now being made to address these challenges.
The examination for these positions is to be conducted by the National Examination Authority, and its acting head pledged the transparency of the examination process.
The acting head of the national examination authority, said: “In the past twenty years, our education system was weak; there were no teachers in many areas, and the situation of schools in the provinces was very poor.”
Meanwhile, some teachers said that with an increase in the number of teachers in the provinces, the existing challenges of schools and students will be resolved.
“In the future, the problems that students have will be resolved; issues related to teaching and other problems that existed in all the provinces of the country concerning teachers will also be addressed,” Qadir Arefi, a teacher, told TOLOnews.
Officials from the Ministry of Education also told TOLOnews that more than 1,500 women are expected to be recruited in vacant education positions across the country.
