KABUL(BNA): The Ministry of Public Works has reported that, from the beginning to the end of the month of Aqrab this year, a total of 452,031 metric tons of goods were transferred via Afghanistan’s railway network.
According to information provided to Bakhtar News Agency by the Ministry’s Media Office, during this period, 336,233 tons were transferred via the Hairatan railway, 40,788 tons via the Aqina railway, 70,780 tons via the Turghundi railway, and 4,229 tons via the Khaf-Herat railway. In total, 450,074 tons of petroleum and other goods were imported into the country. Additionally, 1,957 tons of commercial goods, mainly consisting of dried fruits and pomegranate juice, were exported.
The Ministry of Public Works has emphasized its ongoing efforts to create better conditions for increasing transfers and to ensure that traders receive the necessary support.
It is worth mentioning that, in the month of Mizan current fiscal year, Afghanistan’s railway network facilitated the transfer of 347,563 tons of goods, including over 7,000 tons of exports and transit shipments.
