Over 330,000 Tons of Goods Transported by Rail in May

The Ministry of Public Works has announced that a remarkable 332,837 tons of goods were transported by rail in May this year.

According to a statement from the Ministry’s press office, the port of Hairan led the way with 247,042 tons of goods. Other key contributors included Aqeena port with 32,117 tons, Turghandi port with 23,168 tons, and Khaf-Herat port, which handled 30,509 tons of goods. The transported materials included both petroleum and non-petroleum products, vital for the country’s economy.

Notably, the month saw 16,772 tons of commercial goods being transit and exported, primarily consisting of dried fruits, minerals, potatoes, rice, and pomegranate juice. This highlights the diversity of exports that contribute to national revenue.

The Ministry of Public Works is committed to enhancing transportation conditions and facilitating trade for merchants. By ensuring a sustainable and rapid transportation process for commercial goods via railways, the Ministry aims to boost national revenues and support economic growth.
