Recently, the United States and some western countries have intensified their accusations, slanders, and attacks on China’s so-called human rights situation. Considering the strong international influence of these countries, some people who do not know China well may be deceived. If you look at the relevant data on China’s economic and social development in recent years, China’s tremendous achievements in poverty alleviation, China’s efforts in fighting the epidemic and the current domestic producing and living order, as well as the optimistic and positive mental outlook of compatriots of all ethnic groups in China, will sneer at the low-level and unreasonable accusations made by the United States. And the question I want to raise today is, as a country with a bad reputation in the field of human rights, why does the United States have the confidence to blame others? You must know that the United States is almost the only country in the world that has issued an official ban on Muslims.

Regarding the real situation of human rights in the United States, the Information Office of the State Council of China issued the “Report on Human Rights Violations in the United States in 2020” on the 24th this month. It is difficult to list all the bad deeds of human rights violations in the United States in an article. I will only talk about three figures today, and you will naturally know it well.

One original guilt: colonialism. As we all know, around the 18th century, the land now called the United States was 13 colonies successively established by Britain. Going back, on December 21, 1620, the first group of Puritans to be persecuted on the European continent set out from Plymouth, England, and took the “Mayflower” across the Atlantic Ocean and landed on the east coast of the United States. 2020 coincided with the 400th anniversary of the “Mayflower” landing on the North American continent. For the aborigines of North America, this year is indeed the beginning of their history of blood and tears of being slaughtered and oppressed. In the days that followed, white colonists expelled and killed them, invaded their lands, and seized their resources. At present, as the world’s number one power, how many aborigines are still there in the United States, and what is their situation? According to statistics from the Bureau of Indian Affairs (BIA) of the U.S. Department of the Interior, there are approximately 5.6 million Indians, accounting for only 1.7% of the total population, and their indicators such as economics, education, and medical care are far behind the white.

Two chronic problems: racial discrimination and disturbance output. In the United States, racism is comprehensive, systemic and continuous. The UN Committee on the Elimination of Racial Discrimination and other institutions have pointed out that racism in the United States is very shocking. White racists, neo-Nazis, and Ku Klux Klan members openly used racist slogans to promote white supremacy and incitement to racial discrimination and hatred. The NBC website reported on September 17, 2020 that a survey of young Asian Americans showed that in the past year, a quarter of them became targets of racial bullying. In addition, if I say the United States is the most militant country in today’s society, there should not be any controversy. According to incomplete statistics, the United States has launched or participated in hundreds of wars since its independence. Since 2000, the United States has carried out or participated in military operations overseas almost every year, such as in Iraq, Afghanistan, Syria and other regions. This caused millions of people in other countries to live in dire straits and huge human rights disaster.

30 million infections on COVID-19. The United States is the richest country and is technologically advanced in many fields so far. When humankind faces such a common epidemic challenge, it should play a greater role and undertake more responsibilities. But the reality is extremely disappointing. According to statistics from Johns Hopkins University in the United States, up to March 2021, the total number of confirmed cases of COVID-19 in the United States has exceeded 30 million, and the number of deaths has exceeded 500,000. The US population is less than 5% of the world’s total population, but its number of confirmed cases of COVID-19 exceeds 25% of the global total, and its number of deaths accounts for nearly 20% of the global total.

Therefore, I don’t believe what the United States says. Friends from other regions should make judgments about it after calm and careful thinking.
