Officials from the Nuristan Department of Mines and Petroleum have announced a successful open auction of precious and semi-precious beryl stones in the province.
Mawlavi Sayed-ur-Rahim Umayr, Director of the Department of Mines and Petroleum, reported that 124 kgs of beryl stones were sold for a total of 54.5 million in Kamdesh district.
He also indicated that 5.4 million Afs will be contributed to the state treasury as a result of this auction. It is noteworthy that beryl stones have been previously sold through similar open auctions in the province.
