The Ministry of Public Health on Monday reported 310 new positive cases of the coronavirus from 889 samples tested over the last 24 hours.
So far, 65,847 samples have been tested in the government’s testing centers and there are 19,704 active COVID-19 cases in the country, according to data by the Ministry of Public Health.
In the last 24 hours, the ministry also reported 12 new deaths from COVID-19 and 77 recoveries. With this, the total cases are now 29,143, the total reported deaths are 598, and total recoveries are 8,841.
The highest count was reported in Kabul with 166, followed by Kandahar (37 cases), Paktia (1), Nangarhar (3), Takhar (9), Bamiyan (5), Baghlan (22), Logar (2), Kunduz (21), Parwan (3), Wardak (7), Helmand (9), Kunar (5), Badakhshan (5), Ghor (3) and Zabul (6).
Also, the ministry reported 7 COVID-19 deaths in Kabul, two in Nangarhar, One in Baghlan and two in Wardak in the last 24 hours.
The number of deaths from COVID-19 globally is more than 468,331 and the number of global coronavirus cases is 8,952,428, according to Johns Hopkins University.
