NATO defence ministers will meet in Brussels next week to discuss the Afghan mission and the ongoing peace process, the alliance said on Monday.
The defence ministers will participate on October 22 and 23 in a video conference, NATO’s media office told Pajhwok Afghan News.
The ministers are expected to exchange views on progress on a fairer burden-sharing, as well as on strengthening the alliance deterrence and defence posture and the resilience of allied societies.
“We expect our defence ministers to reaffirm their steadfast support to the Afghan-owned and Afghan-led peace process,” one NATO official said.
The minsters will reaffirm support to the Afghan security forces, through NATO’s Resolute Support Mission and for the country’s long-term security and stability.
