Four days back, the Ministry of Interior (MoI) claimed arresting a former lawmaker Mullah Tarakhel Mohammadi’s brother, but the ex-MP rejected the arrest.

MoI deputy spokesman NasratRahimi in a social media post on March 26 said: “Musa Tarakhel, an illegal armed man accused of several crimes, was arrested by security forces last evening.”

Pajhwok has been contacting the MoI and Kabul police over the past four days to confirm the arrest of Musa Tarakhel, but failed to elicit a response.

But some sources claimed Tarakhel after his arrest was released before being investigated for alleged crimes he was accused of.

Noor Mohammad, a member of the Afghan Turk Construction Company leadership council, said Musa was released after spending one night in jail.

He said Trakhel’s brothers had stopped the company’s work in Pul-i-Charkhi. He was summoned by the Kabul Attorney General Office prosecutor three times in connection with the case.

Former lawmaker Mullah Tarakhel said his brother had not been detained because he had committed no crime.
