The UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres has expressed concern over the continued violence against journalists around the world.
On the occasion of the International Day to End Impunity for Crimes Against Journalists, Guterres said that more than 70 journalists have been killed this year for simply fulfilling their vital role in society and added that most of these crimes go unsolved.
“We must end the common culture of impunity and enable journalists to do their essential work,” said Guterres
This comes while marking this day, UNAMA has also said that after the Taliban took control of Afghanistan, the human rights of more than 200 journalists have been violated in this country.
