MoI claims detaining Taliban’s deputy finance minister

The deputy finance minister of the Taliban regime AbdulJalil Haqqani has been arrested by police forces, the Ministry of Interior said late on Monday.

According to a statement released by the Ministry of Interior (MoI), Abdul Jalil Haqqani, the former deputy finance of Taliban was arrested from Spin Boldak district of Kandahar.

The statement further added that Haqqani’s name was included in the sanctions list of the United Nations as well as the Interpol list.

Haqqani was arrested as he was attempting to cross the border with fake passport and travel to Pakistan, the statement read.

He was arrested after his biometric data was collected at the crossing point in Spin Boldak, MoI added in its statement.

The anti-government armed militant groups including Taliban militants have not commented regarding the arrest of Abdul Jalil Haqqani so far.
