The Ministry of Economy (MoE) announced that in the year 1403 (solar year) it has issued activity permits for five foreign organizations and 129 domestic organizations.
According to the ministry, these organizations operate in various sectors, including social security, health, education, agriculture, livestock, and disaster response projects.
“During the year 1403, five foreign organizations and 129 domestic organizations have received operating licenses from the Ministry of Economy,” said Abdul Rahman Habib, the spokesperson for the Ministry of Economy.
Some economic experts consider the activities of these organizations essential for improving humanitarian conditions, providing aid, and creating job opportunities in the country.
“The activities of non-governmental organizations can have both positive and negative economic impacts. If these activities are properly evaluated and monitored, they can contribute to economic growth, “stated Mir Shaker Yaqubi, an economic expert.
“Humanitarian organizations have played a crucial role in reducing the humanitarian crisis in Afghanistan in recent years, and their presence remains necessary,” stated Abdul Hasib Safi, another economic expert.
According to statistics from the Ministry of Economy, around 2,608 NGOs are currently active in Afghanistan, of which 280 are foreign organizations.
