The Ministry of Rural Rehabilitation and Development has announced the completion of graveling works on a 42-kilometer road from Mizan District of Zabul Province to Shawali Kot District of Kandahar Province, carried out at a cost of more than 100 million Afghanis.
Mawlawi Hikmatullah Rahbar, head of the ministry’s provincial office, told Bakhtar News Agency that the project was implemented with the financial support of the UNOPS organization, at a total cost of 100.5 million Afghanis. The road begins from the main road in Mizan District and connects to the border of Shawali Kot District in Kandahar.
He added that the road is 42 kilometers long and 7 meters wide, and the project also included the construction of 112 culverts and 190 meters of retaining walls.
