Dossier of murder of Mahsa, a six-year-old girl kidnapped and killed in Kabul last month, was sent to court on Saturday, Afghan attorney general’s spokesman said.

The girl was kidnapped by two individuals who related to each other as cousin and had a shop near the house of the victim, said Jamshed Rasooli, a spokesman for the attorney general.

Kidnappers were demanding $300,000 from the father of the victim who was a money dealer. As they knew that police were after them, they killed her, he said.

The culprits were arrested by police and confessed to committing the crime.

Rasooli expected that there will be open trial over the case.

Mahsa’s kidnapping and killing came amid increased incidents of crime in Kabul.

Nasrat Rahimi, acting spokesman for Interior Ministry, said that some police officials have been dismissed or referred to prosecution over negligence.
