Sources said on Monday that the Charkh district in Logar – almost 90 kilometers east of Kabul – has fallen to the Taliban after a clash with security forces on Sunday night.
There are no numbers available about possible casualties, but another source said the forces made a “tactical retreat” from the district.
The Taliban claims to have captured the center of Charkh district, including the police headquarters and the district governor’s compound.
More details will be added to the story as they become available.
