Mullah Mirwais, a key member of Taliban, was killed in a night raid conducted by Afghan forces in Qarabah district in Kabul on Sunday night, Qarabagh District Governor Mohammad Zarif Rashid said on Monday.
The operation was launched in Sad Sang village in Qarabagh district in which Mullah Mirwais, a key Taliban member, was killed.
“Mullah Mirwais was involved in several attacks on the security forces’ convoy in Kabul-north highway,” he said.
He did not provide further details about the operation.
Taliban has not commented on the report.
