Former Afghan President Hamid Karzai has strongly condemned last night’s Pakistani airstrikes on the provinces of Nangarhar and Paktika, describing them as a clear violation of Afghanistan’s sovereignty.
Karzai expressed his condolences and sympathy to the families of the victims and wished a speedy recovery to those injured in the attacks. He called on the Government of Pakistan to reconsider its policy toward Afghanistan and to adopt a path of brotherhood, good neighborliness, and civilized engagement instead of extremism and violence.
Dr. Abdullah Abdullah, former Chairman of the High Council for National Reconciliation, also strongly condemned the Pakistani airstrikes, stating that such actions are against Afghanistan’s national sovereignty and territorial integrity.
In a post on his X account, Abdullah wrote that targeting civilians and resorting to violence is not a solution to problems and emphasized that dialogue and negotiations are the best way to resolve disputes between the two countries.
