The Kabul Air Brigade formally began flying UH-60 Black Hawk helicopters on Tuesday amid ongoing efforts to modernize the Afghan Air Force.
Sources in the Afghan Air Force said three Black Hawk helicopters joined the Kabul Air Brigade squadron on Monday.
The sources further added that the United States has handed over 45 Black Hawk helicopters to the Afghan Air Force so far.
The first Black Hawk helicopters were handed over to Kandahar Air Brigade, the sources said.
Meanwhile, the Air Force officials are saying that the Black Hawk helicopters will replace the aging Mi-17 helicopters.
