Iranian FM visits Pakistan to discuss bilateral cooperation, regional issues

ISLAMABAD, Nov. 10 (Xinhua) — Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif arrived in Pakistan Tuesday night on a two-day visit for talks on bilateral cooperation and regional issues, officials of the Pakistani Foreign Ministry said.

The Foreign Ministry of Pakistan said in a statement on Tuesday that Zarif will have delegation-level talks with his Pakistani counterpart Shah Mahmood Qureshi and call on Pakistani Prime Minister Imran Khan.

“Foreign Minister Javad Zarif’s visit to Pakistan forms part of regular high-level exchanges between the two countries. This is his fourth visit to Pakistan during the last two and a half years,” the statement said.

The statement added the visit of Zarif will help further deepen bilateral cooperation and enhance understanding on various regional issues.

“Pakistan and Iran enjoy close, cordial relations founded on mutual trust and augmented by affinities of faith and culture. Bilateral collaboration between the two countries has been growing in diverse fields,” the statement said. Enditem
