India, China to help efforts for peace in Afghanistan

New Delhi and Beijing have agreed on boosting cooperation with efforts to bring peace and stability to Afghanistan.

The agreement came on Friday when Chinese Special Envoy Ambassador Deng Xijun visited New Delhi, where met top Indian officials.

As the US and Taliban claimed progress in the latest round of talks in Doha, India and China vowed to consult closely on the ongoing efforts to bring peace to Afghanistan

In Delhi, External Affairs Ministry spokesman Raveesh Kumar tweeted Xijun held talks with Indian Foreign Secretary Vijay Gokhale on the current situation in Afghanistan.

“Xijun held discussions with Indian officials on the situation in Afghanistan, including peace and reconciliation efforts. He also called on Foreign Secretary Vijay Gokhale.”
