The Independent Election Complaint Commission (IECC) on Thursday removed seven more Wolesi Jirga hopefuls just two days before the lower house polls, according to a statement.
Age, involvement in certain cases and possession of private militia groups are said to be the reasons behind the removal of more candidates from the list.
The removed Wolesi Jirga hopefuls are Rohina Wazlizai from Maidan Wardak, Abdul Karim Shafaq from Farah, Habibullh Ghoryani from Heart, Ahmad Shah Sadat from Heart, Abdullah Sahil from Kunduz, Ghulam Nabi Saqi from Ghoor and Sumaira Khairkhwa from Balkh province.
Earlier, IECC has said they had received enough evidence from the Justice and litigation, security organs over the candidates’ age problems, the conviction, leadership and membership of armed groups which had a direct impact on the IECC’s decision.
Abdul Aziz Aryaee, IECC head, told at a press conference here that IECC had legal evidence over the removal of candidates from the final list.
