IEC Announces Parliamentary Elections Results

The Independent Election Commission (IEC) on Friday evening announced the parliamentary elections primary results for five provinces includingDaikundi, Farah, Uruzgan, Jawzjan and Bamiyan. 

Addressing a press conference, the IEC chief Abdulbadi Sayyad said the commission was not able to announce the primary results of 10 provinces due to some problems.

He said the process of transferring biometric devices’ data to the main server is ongoing and that they assure that transparency will be maintained in the process.

According to Sayyad, based on primary results, the following candidates from their respected provinces have been announced as winners in the parliamentary elections:

Daikundi:

Daikundi has four seats in the Wolesi Jirga, the Lower House of Parliament and in this election, three men and one woman candidates have made their way to the house.

The winner candidates from Daikundi are:

• Sayed Mohammad Daud Naseri has received 13,055 votes

• Raihana Azad has received 12,680 votes

• Ali Akbar Jamshidi has received 10,990

• Sherin Mohseni has received 10,480

 Farah:

Farah has four seats in the parliament and based on primary results, four men and one woman have managed to make their ways to the house.

The winner candidates from Farah are:

• Humayun Shaheedzada has received 2,404 votes

• Abdul Satar Hussainin has received 1,889 votes

• Abdul Naseer Farahi has received 1,658 votes

• Abdul Jalil Bakhtawar has received by 1,483 votes

• Belgis Roshan has received 1,104 votes

Uruzgan:

Uruzgan has three seats in the Wolesi Jirga and based on primary results, two men and one woman have been announced as winners as follows:

• Bismillah Jan Mohammad has received 1,413 votes

• Qudratullah Rahimi has received by 1,375 votes

• Anosha Barikzai has received 737 votes

Jawzjan:

Jawzajan has five seats in the parliament and based on primary results, four men and one woman have been announced as winners.

The winner candidates from Jawzjan are:

• Batur Dostum has received 9,768 votes

• Baktash Eschi has received 6,792 votes

• Mohammad Karim Jawzjani has received 4,140 votes

• Azizullah Ulfati has received 3,349 votes

• Halima Sadaf Karimi has received 1,134 votes

Bamiyan:

Bamiyan has four seats in the Wolesi Jirga and based on primary results, three men and one woman candidates have managed to make their waysto the house.

The winner candidates are:

• Mohammad Rahim Aliyar has received 10429 votes

• Zaheeruddin Jan Agha has received 9945 votes

• Mohammad Jamal Fakoori Beheshti has received 9,021 votes

• Nekbakht Fahimi has received 6,167 votes
