The (IEA) is holding 60 foreigners including 10 women in prisons, the Office of the Prison Administration said.
Abdullah Hamdard, deputy head of the Office of the Prison Administration, said that foreigners are imprisoned in the country for various crimes.
According to him, overall there are nearly 20,000 prisoners in the country, of which 1,500 are women.
Hamdard emphasized that there is no torture in the prisons of the Islamic Emirate, rather there are opportunities for prisoners to learn and train.
In addition to modern and religious education courses, prisoners are offered tailoring, carpentry, shoemaking and mobile phone repairing courses.
Officials of the Office of the Prison Administration emphasize that in addition to coordination with judicial and judicial bodies regarding the review and processing of criminal cases, many prisoners have been pardoned by special decrees.
