Idress Zaman has been appointed as deputy of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MoFA), a well-placed government source said on Sunday.
Zaman confirmed to Pajhwok being appointed as deputy political head but he did not provide more details.
Earlier, Hikmat Khalil Karzai worked on this post.
Zaman earlier served as executive head of the None-Governmental Organization (NGO) for peace and conflict resolution and cooperated with another NGO which worked in the same field.
