Afghanistan’s eastern provinces once again witnessed a tragedy that violates every international principle and humanitarian value. The recent airstrikes carried out by Pakistan in Khost, Kunar, and Paktika—strikes that claimed the lives of innocent children and defenseless women—are acts that cannot be justified under any circumstance. These attacks represent a blatant breach of international norms and a complete disregard for the ethics of good neighbourliness.
The Afghan people have endured decades of suffering, yet they continue to call for peace, stability, and genuine regional cooperation. Every nation has the right to protect its territorial integrity, but no country has the right to shed the blood of civilians to mask its internal failures or weaknesses. Pakistan’s latest strikes neither contribute to counter-terrorism efforts nor enhance regional security; instead, they fuel hostility and deepen distrust between nations.
Afghans urge Pakistan to act with foresight and wisdom— to help move the region beyond the endless cycle of war rather than dragging nations back into conflict. Our demand is simple: relations based on international principles and the foundations of good neighbourliness. This is the path responsible countries choose for safeguarding their future.
Pakistan must recognize that outdated, aggressive, and destructive policies only damage regional stability and also undermine Pakistan’s own long-term interests. Afghanistan’s territory is not a place for aggression, and the patience of its people should never be mistaken for weakness. Afghans are advocates of peace, but they stand firmly in the defense of their dignity, independence, and the safety of their citizens.
The international community also carries a clear responsibility. These attacks are not merely local incidents; they are blatant violations of international law that must be condemned, investigated, and prevented from recurring.
Afghanistan is a nation exhausted by decades of conflict, and it must no longer be subjected to such repeated tragedies. If Pakistan seeks a stable future for its coming generations, it must abandon hostile behaviour, adopt a cooperative approach, and respect Afghanistan’s sovereignty.
The future of this region lies in peace and mutual respect—not in reckless airstrikes that leave behind nothing but sorrow, fear, and lasting grief.
